Dennis and I would like to thank EVERYONE for their thoughts, prayers, gifts and cards. I am not sure where to begin, but I guess the "beginning" would be best :)
Our ultimate thanks and praise go to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For being with us always, never leaving our side during our darkest days and our longest nights. Thank you Lord for the miracles you have given us, for the knowledge and skill of the professionals taking care of Trevor, for the love and support of our friends and family, and we thank you for the strength to continue on when we thought we had none left. Thank you for your mercy, your love, and your infinate presence in our lives. We know, without a doubt, that you gave us a miracle and allowed us a most precious gift.
Thank you to Dr. Christopher Dowdy and your staff. It is because of your professional judgement and quick actions, that my son was given the chance to live. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a doctor who is truely passionate about his profession, cares about his patients, and has their best interest at heart. Dr. Dowdy, you are a rare exception! Thank you for the kindness and concern you have shown for my family and I. Thank you to you and your staff for donating blood in Trevor's name, a true and meaningful act of kindness.
Thank you to Dr. Alexander Reiter for a fast and safe delivery for Trevor. Thank you for trying to wait as long as possible, and being straight-forward with the facts of our circumstances. You knew exactly when it was time to give in and deliver. You saved my son's life, not a minute too soon. For this, I could never effectively express the gratitude that I feel.
The Woman's Hospital of Texas
There are dozens of you responsible for stabilizing and saving Trevor. Please forgive me if I miss anyone. The neonatology team: Foremost, Dr. Jayne Finkowsy-Rivera: choosing a favorite is almost impossible, but you take the prize! Thank you for quickly and effectively stabilizing Trevor after birth, and continuing extensive care to ensure his health. Thank you to Dr. Rose Hernandez, Dr. Dorothy Thompson, Dr. Scott Jerriel, Dr. DeGuesman, Dr.DeVille, Dr. Stafford, and the many, many doctors at Woman's who continue to help miracles happen.
The nursing staff: What can I say? You were the one's taking care of Trevor day in and day out and making sure we were included in and informed about Trevor's care. We have many favorites at Woman's! Cassie, Ashley, Jenna, Natalie, Austin, Agnes...and the list goes on and on. Thank you to Paula for your help after Trevor was transferred. All of you guys are in my thoughts each time I look at Trevor and see how far he has come. We miss you, and thank you so much for the difficult tasks that you face daily. Your efforts and actions do not go unnoticed. Thank you to Ms. Betty at the reception desk for putting up with my multiple calls daily to check on Trevor. You always had a cheerful and welcoming voice, no matter how many times I called.
Thank you to the respiratory team, Surgery-Dr. Bloss, Neurology- Dr. Rivera, and Infectious Disease Dr. Campbell.
Texas Children's Hospital
From the night Trevor was transferred, everyone at Texas Children's made us feel welcomed, and comfortable about Trevor's care. Thank you to the AWESOME Kangaroo Crew who transported Trevor! That was a scary moment for me, and you all completed the task with professionalism and care.
The Neonatology team: Dr. Abrams-Wow! What a guy! We just loved you from the first time we met you. You connected with our girls and made them feel so comfortable on their first visit with their brother. The Teal Team- Dr. Cox, Dr. Nina Ford and Dr. Ann R. You guys are the most amazing team! We love you all so much and thank you for the excellent care you gave to Trevor. Not to mention, the attention and concern you showed for him even when he was not on your team. If there ever was a perfect team of doctors, you are it....hands down! I am going to miss you all very much, not just as doctors, but as friends.
Our two "angel nurses" Debbie Mason and Celna. Leaving my baby behind, 2 hours away, was the hardest thing I have ever done. You helped to calm my fears because I felt like I was leaving Trevor with a family member each time he was in your care. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for everything you did for Trevor. I watched both of your hearts break along with ours each time he got sick, and we seen the excitment and joy in you with each accomplishment he achieved. The emotions you showed for Trevor proved how much you cared about him. I wish I could take you both home with us! We will definately stay in contact!
To our friends and family: I just don't think we could have made it as easily without your support. Thank you to my Mom and Lee, who were there anytime I needed anything, who helped me through the recovery phase, cleaned my house, got me out of the house when I was depressed, and for the many little things that mothers and fathers do. Thank you for bringing me nightgowns to the hospital (the candy was the best part lol), for the baby gifts, the light-up mobile, and for all the times you bought dinner for us. Thank you to Nana and PawPaw Campbell (Dennis and Linda) for the numerous hours of babysitting, the countless piles of baby gifts, blankets, clothes, burp cloths, diapers, and many other things. Trevor is one lucky little guy to have grandparents like y'all. NeNaw and PawPaw, thank you for staying with Trevor on Christmas Day, so Dennis and I could watch the girls have their Christmas. It made us feel so good that he had two of the most loving people on the planet to be with him on Christmas. Thank you for the clothes, blankets, hats, shoes, and of course the Camo outfit!
Thank you Aunt Laura and Aunt Sherryl for the thoughts, prayers, comments on the website, the cards and money. We love you both and can't wait for Trevor to meet his 2 favorite Great Aunts!!! Thank you to Grammy (Correna) for the baby gifts and for the beautiful, loving comments you always leave on Trevor's website. I can't wait until the day your little "Scrappy-Doo" can read all the messages you left for him. I look forward to reading them each day, and I print them all to save in a book for Trevor. Thank you to my sis and broter-in-law, Holly and Chris Gathright, for the baby gifts, bottles, blankets, money and babysitting! Love y'all!
